Dr. Joseph Henry

Joseph Henry was born in Haiti, in a small town called Leogane. The town of Leogane is well-known for being abundant in culture, art, music, and religion. Joseph knew that he would eventually get enticed by one of these traits his small town had to offer. He was very fortunate to be born and raised in a Christian environment. From a very early age, he attended Sunday school classes and worship services. But it was at the age of thirteen, the Lord spoke to him and he decided to give his life to Christ.

Before leaving Haiti, Joseph had a conversation with one of his cousins who asked him: “For how long are you going to stay in America?” Joseph replied: “Two years.” Right there, in that moment the most befitting verse came upon him. Proverbs chapter 16:9 “In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” Joseph really thought, he could have gone back to Haiti after two years. Clearly, that was not God’s plan for him. And he is so thankful and grateful the LORD had determined his paths.

Through the acquaintance of two of his cousins, (Anatin and Victor Paul), Joseph started attending worship services at the Pilgrim Wesleyan church of Brooklyn with Rev. Pierre Ferdinand.
